BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT

ü  Schedule- parents welcome to visit – must register in office before coming to room

ü  Volunteers are appreciated – there are many ways to help in and out of the classroom J

ü  Behavior Plan – Bobcat ROAR - complete details on Hillcrest website & on bottom of assignment sheet

ü  Assignment Sheets – a way for us to communicate - write notes to Mrs. Carlson in comment area – parents must sign each night - district homework policy 10 minutes per grade level per night

  ü  Homework Folder -2 sides – most papers will come home on Friday – my phone numbers are in folder

ü  Grading Scale – A, B, C – grades can be seen on internet parent portal – get password form office

ü  Spelling- final test is on Thursday – new list distributed on Friday - all students do challenge words

ü  Reading Corner/Accelerated Reading – books can be checked out to read 15 minutes each night

  ü  3rd Grade Accelerated Reader Parties- need 9 points a quarter to make quarter celebration

     ü  Book Orders – make checks out to Scholastic

       ü  Class Parties/Committees – AR Parties, Winter Holiday & Valentine’s

         ü  Students may bring a small healthy snack to eat after morning recess

         ü  Lunch/Recess – Recess @ 12:00          Lunch @ 12:30

        ü  3rd graders will be taking the Smarter Balance test in the spring - practice math flash cards all year- this fall we will start multiplication/division

         ü   Breakfast-7:45 to 8:10- kids need to sign up the day before

ü  Please drop off & pick up students in north parking lot in back of school-for snow days the School Reach phone system will be used along with media announcements
